I am blessed. I have lived my entire life with good fortune. I used to think that some people had it good, and others had it bad. I thought that was just how things were. I lived by the idea that everyone had an issue, but some were worse than others. A good life was given to me, so I should let others figure it out on their own. I was so wrong. I was given such a good life, yet I still couldn’t solve why I was sad or angry or disappointed. I could never get to the bottom of it. Now I realize the reason I was unhappy was because I kept my blessings for myself. You must pay it forward.

Knowledge is power. Some people are given the capacity of acquiring knowledge quicker and retaining it better than others. The thing is, we all have knowledge on something. How do we learn what we know? Most of the time, we learn it from somebody else. Somebody who knows more than us. Rather than just keeping the information for themselves and letting somebody suffer through learning it all on their own, they give. Information is meant to be shared. We are meant to help each other. The more you teach, the more you learn. Spread the knowledge you have learned because without being taught what you know, you would know nothing.

Carry kindness to others. As kids, we are taught to be kind to others. We are taught that we should treat others as we expect to be treated. As adults, we lose this principle. Why? Why do we become so cold? The reason is, we have had people hurt us and we have seen what people can become. Why help them if they don’t help you? Because the difference you make by doing something small may impact the entire outlook of someone’s life. They need it more than you think sometimes. Little pebbles can make big ripples. Remember how what you do impacts others directly and indirectly. Kindness carries.

As we give, we get. What do we get? We get to see the reaction of those who we give to. We get to experience dopamine from giving. The feeling of making a difference in somebody else’s day. It’s a great feeling. We love the feeling of seeing others learn from us. We love the feeling of seeing others succeed in something we taught them. That is why you must pay it forward. Give. Giving back is the key to happiness. Realize that the more you make others happy, the more you will become happy yourself. Pay it forward and life will pay you back.
