It always seems impossible until it is done”

Three days and I’m done. Three weeks and I’m done. Three months and I’m done.

I’ve created multiple streaks in recent history but they all ended. Why? Why is it so hard to continue?

Continuance is hard because we don’t see instant progress. We make atomic changes to ourselves each day that are much too small for us to notice. But when you see a person you haven’t seen for years, they say “Wow! You’ve changed so much!”

We long for this feeling. We long for the feeling of returning to our hometown for our high school reunion and proving them all wrong. We want to change but when we start our exploration, it is so hard to continue.

I woke up this morning in the middle of winter and thought the same thought that I have thought for years: “I can’t wait for summer.” I used to always think that summer would enhance my output. Man, was I wrong. When summer comes, my schedule fills. My time to work is miniscule because I want to spend time outside or traveling. Rather than embracing the winter and working on myself because I had the time, I would hope for the ideal situation to work.

Key: If you only work when it is ideal to work, things will never change.

You must continue through the hardest times. Continuing proves more to yourself than starting does. It is just like school. We learn all the stuff but does it really matter if you don’t apply what you have learned? You can have all the degrees you want but if you don’t use them what was the sense in getting them?

Forming goals is the learning, continuing working on them is the application. Prove to yourself that you are one to continue what you started. The feeling of waking up and knowing you are in the middle of something great is just as good as the feeling when you finish, if not better.

After all, it’s about the journey not the destination.

~Thank you for reading. My goal is to help teach others ways to better themselves while doing the same for myself. This is The Exploration.~
