Breaking away

“Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better.”

Taking the easy route always catches up to you.

I grew up with a kid that seemed like he had everything. He was good looking, smart, and athletic. His parents gave him whatever he wanted. But he never quite realized what he had. He never appreciated anything that was given to him and coasted through the first 18 years of his life. I was always jealous of how easy life was for him.

Eventually, the years of taking the easy route caught up to him. The girl who he thought he’d marry broke his heart. His parents got divorced. He started failing his college classes and didn’t graduate after 5 years.

The years of being undisciplined and lackadaisical in everything he did ended up completely changing the course of his life.

WHEN HANDED SUCCESS, YOU MUST DO SOMETHING WITH IT OR IT WILL BE GIVEN TO SOMEONE WORTHY OF HANDLING IT.

Life was handed to him on a silver platter and he ignored it.

Seeing examples like this firsthand, I have realized the importance of separating yourself from the pack. You must be disciplined, stay true to your values, and do what others don’t.

When life got hard, I used to wish my life was easier. Now I realize my life is much easier than most people’s. I was set up for success, but I quit taking it for granted. I have continued to grow.

When times get tough you must realize that you can make them easier in some way. You have complete control over how your life goes based on the decisions you make. If you want life to be easier, you have to get better. Discipline equals freedom.

The people who break away from the pack are the ones who do what others don’t do.

Do you want to be just like everyone else? Or do you want to be better?

Choose to be different. Success is possible for anyone.

It doesn’t matter what cards you were dealt, you are the one playing the cards.

Thank you for reading.

I appreciate every single person who happens to stumble across these deep sentiments buried in my subconscious.

I hope if you’re here you can relate.

My goal is to help others better themselves while doing the same.

This is The Exploration.
