Where does your confidence come from?
For me, my confidence is not natural. It is not a God given trait that I was born with. My confidence comes from the work I have put into myself.
It has been developed over years. It has come from continuously proving to myself that I am capable of doing whatever I put my mind to.
Every single time you outdo your expectations for yourself, you are growing your confidence.
Rather than saying you can’t do something, make an attempt at it. Give more things a try because you are capable of doing them with enough practice and enough self-belief.
When I start to slip and lose confidence in myself, I remind myself of the things that helped develop my confidence.
These things include:
•Reading
•Writing
•Exercising
•Eating healthy
•Learning new skills
•Practicing talking around people
•Spending time with people who build me up
If a habit in your life is causing you to become less confident, cut it out.
For example, someone may not have confidence in the way they look. It could be how much they weigh, or how small they are, or any of the many self-image issues people have.
To combat this, they must pinpoint what is making them look the way they do. If you are overweight, fix your eating habits and go for walks more often. If you are underweight, find nutritious foods that are easy for you to eat sustainably and slowly add in weights a couple days a week.
As soon as you prove to yourself that you ARE capable of changing the way you look, your belief in yourself is amplified.
You no longer see yourself as a victim.
You begin to realize you are in control of the way you are.
Not everything is controllable, but take control of the things you can to build up your belief in yourself.
Prove to yourself that if you want to be in a better place, it is up to you to do it.
