Self-focus
Self-focus
The more you focus on yourself, the more selfless you can become. Many people will strongly disagree with this statement. Most believe that the more you focus on yourself, the more conceited you are. This can be viewed from a completely different lens. The other lens shows that the more you develop yourself, the more able you are to donate your time to others.
Being selfish and selfless are both weak traits. Being selfish means that you simply only care about what the world does for you. Being selfless means you only care about the world, and not yourself. They are antonyms, but neither is positive.
Strive to be self-developed, self-focused, self-confident, self-loving. Don’t strive to be selfless. Strive to become the best version of you so you can be the best version to others. Self-focus is necessary to properly love and care for others. When you become self-focused, you can finally become what most people define selfless as.
You are a selfless person if you put others first, but not in a good way. Putting others first takes away from your happiness. It takes away from your confidence. It takes away from your drive to be better. Not developing yourself will, in turn, take away from what you can give to others. Selflessness is foolishness.
A selfish person is the opposite. They look to what others can do for them rather than what they can do for others. Every action they take is based on the opinions of others, making them selfless as well. So is selfishness actually selflessness?
The only difference is putting others first for their sake versus putting others first for your sake. Both include putting others first. What you need to do is put yourself first. Become a self-confident person by developing yourself. Become a self-aware person by discovering yourself. Become a self-focused person by learning yourself. All of these will help you become a much better person for others.
Selfishness equals selflessness. Become self-focused.
